2D Design

A requirement course for photography (and most art degrees at Columbia) is to take Fundamentals of 2D Design. The first series is from an exercise on perspective and depth. The first illustration was drawn with pencil, then scanned and manipulated in Illustrator for the final three illustrations. The final work is my final project, all done in Illustrator.

Documentary photography

Since moving to Humboldt Park last year, I have been fascinated by this area of Chicago. In the fall, I worked on a documentary photography series that focused on Humboldt Park. I have really enjoyed this subject, so I chose to continue to photograph in the area. I've really come to realize that it isn't really a final project that could be completed in one semester. I could spend years photographing my neighborhood! I would really like to continue this body of work and hopefully, one day, have a strong series.

First Post

Here's to my first post! I plan on using Blogger as a place to display my work. Please be patient - my finals are finished next week, so I'll be able to make more posts soon!
